As the year wanes

And there you are.
As the year wanes, I feel strangely compelled to say something.
And there you are.
I was going to do some kind of year end wrap up, well, because everyone else does.
But really, does anyone want to read that kind of thing?
I should clarify that I did see the Hugh Grant Holiday Movie before I left Rhode Island. The Last Samurai (too long, not sufficiently able to hold my attention) and Cold Mountain (quite good, but inevitably compared in my mind to, and falling short of the book), I watched in Florida.
There should be a rule against undertaking simultaneous readings of Gravity’s Rainbow and Infinite Jest.
I did my part and went to see a Hugh Grant Holiday Movie. This time Love Actually, an abominable name in my opinion. Hugh is moving up the food chain - now he’s prime minister.
The statistics:
Distance: 1152.4 Mi
Total time: 17:26:22
Moving time: 16:31:07
Stopped time: 55:14
Moving average speed: 69.8 mph
Total average speed: 66.1 mph
After getting pretty familiar with 1150 miles of I-95, I think I am in a unique situation to make a few comments. And I will.
First, I think that if I am paying to drive on your road (read: New Jersey and Delaware) then (1) the road should be in good condition, or, failing that, (2) I should be able to drive as fast as I want.
Second, Delaware is quite the ripoff. $5 to drive 14 miles.
There was something else I was going to say, probably about the high percentage of drivers from Quebec, but I can’t remember what it was.

Space Ghost is out on DVD now too. What more could I ask for? Well, The Tick would be nice. [Note: not the live action version starring Puddy, which, although good, could not match the animated one]
