More Information Than You Ever Wanted To Know

21 July 2004 - 01:37 pm

From our More Information Than You Ever Wanted To Know Department: I finally finished the maps and such for the trip. The maps are clickable for larger versions. For the whole trip map, there are both the road version and one mapped to the visible earth project. You can see how brown everything gets once you get near mid-Kansas (the long vertical trace).

Thanks to GPS Visualizer and Griffin Technology.

Here’s the altitude plot. Left to right is East to West (sorry). The leftmost peak is around Blacksburg, VA, where 2,600 ft. seemed pretty high. The tallest peak is the continental divide, which we actually passed under, through a tunnel.
