Good time for an eight game winning streak.

When did they start singing God Bless America at baseball games? I find it not only irritating but also particularly offensive. When did a baseball game become some kind of patriotic event? Why should I have that forced on me just for wanting to watch a game?

What happened to take me out to the ball game? I don’t like that song either, but at least it’s not foisting pseudo-religious America rah-rah jingoism on me. Why not sing that Lee Greenwood song while we’re at it?
